Yesterday i got told that my current company NICE Systems GmbH is closing the office in Friedrichshafen. So at the moment i am looking for a new job. If you or your company is offering a job for a developer please let me know.

I promised you to tell you a bit more about myself, but i hadn't in mind to tell you this because i need to look for a new job. Here is some more information about myself.

I looking for a job as software developer and i would like to working with Linux systems. I like to develop system related applications or service especially with network interaction. Database programming is very interesting for me and i have some expierence with MySQL, PostgreSQL and DB2.

I would prefer to stay in the region of lake constance, but i'm willing to move if i get a great job offer somewhere else (even outside of germany).

I'm working as R&D System Development Engineer for the last 2 and a half years for NICE Systems GmbH after a have graduated at the Berufsakademie Ravensburg with the degree of Bachelor of Science in computer science. I have over ten years of expierence in programming in C/C++ in various areas (network, socket, multi-thread, IPC, drivers, databases, etc).

I hope to get many offers and thank you for your interest.

Hopefully someone could point me to a free host service with trac installed or where trac can be installed easily. At the moment I host several smaller projects on my private server which does have the bandwidth to allow a lot of users. So if you know a web service please let me know.

Thanks

Christmas Cookies Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Finally I've made it. The whole time before chirstmas i was thinking of making some christmas cookies, but i haven't had the time and some other 'more important' matters interfered.

But now i made the first of bunch of cookies. The name of the cookies could be roughly translated into english as 'Almond-Apricot-Slices'. Here is the receipe for the cookies:

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 250g flour
  • 1 teaspoon backing powder
  • 140g sugar
  • 1 tip salt
  • 5 yellow of egg
  • 120g butter
Ingredients for the covering:
  • 1 glas apricot jam
  • 5 white of egg
  • 200g sugar
  • 150g grond almonds
  • 50g chop almonds

To create the dough you simply mix all the ingredients and put the dough in the frigerator for about 30 minutes. For the covering you create a beaten egg white and aftwards put the sugar and the grond almonds into it. Now you roll the dough out on a baking sheet and put the apricot jam on top of it. Now put the covering on top of the apricot jam and disperse the chop almonds.

Backing time: 25 minutes at about 200 degree celsius

Enjoy it!

Feedback for amarok alarm 1.0 Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

The amarok alarm script version 1.0 hasn't been much of a success when you concider the votes on kde-apps.org and the number of downloads. At the moment the votes is at 44% and 37 downloads from kde-apps.org. The download counter on our homepage tells us that the script was downloaded 444 times. A bit more but definitly not what i was hoping for.

If you like or dislike the script, feel free to leave a comment either on this site or on kde-apps.org. This way I could improve the script and maybe also add some of the much needed features you are looking for.

At the moment I'm in the middle of investigating the way how to port the script to amarok 2.0. The features i currently have in mind for the next version are:

  • Status Widget
displays the current status of the script; next alarm time, time until sleep is complete, etc
  • dialog for configuring the basic stuff
This way it would be much easier for newbies to use the script.
  • Better system integration; add an easy way to configure your system to use wake on LAN
  • More fine tuning
I do not intend to add an option to configure the alarms itself, since i want to leave this job to the more suitable applications like KOrganizer.
